October 1, 2017

Greetings and Welcome to our Second Century of Service.

This month is the 1,201st in our Club’s history of service.

You will see some new faces, new places and a new look as we begin our Second Century of Service.

  • Our new meeting place is the Embassy Suites at Lomas and I-25.
  • Our new meeting day is Tuesday of each week at noon.
  • Our new Officers and Board include Steve Bass, Michael Crews, Judy Lucero
  • Our new members will include some familiar faces from the La Cueva Kiwanis Club.
  • Our new Service Leadership Partner is the La Cueva Key Club.

We have a full slate of projects listed on the website calendar.  These include the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, Kamp Kiwanis Kleanup, Kiwanis One Day at the Storehouse and Locker 505 Halloween Charity Carnival.

At our 100th anniversary celebration we heard from our SLP leaders.  One message which seemed universal is that our SLP’s want to see more Kiwanians at their events.  I encourage you all to say yes to the youth of Albuqerque and become engaged with these leaders of tomorrow.  It is our intention to grow our Kiwanis Family by sponsoring more Service Leadership Programs in our Community.  To do that we need Club Advisors who are willing to engage with these young people. Say yes to becoming an advisor.

Thank you

Jeff Rowe
