Our Plan for 2017 “Kiwanis One Day” Work ProjecThere are two locations for our service projects on October 28.  Sign-up sheets will be circulated at meeting Tuesday Oct. 24, or you can call Dave O (681-6325)  to choose your location.

  • At 9.00, meet at the Locker 505 facility at 6020 Constitution NE (just east of San Pedro Dr).  Ten volunteers will assemble metal clothing racks and shelves, and then transfer the clothing from temporary locations.

  • Volunteers #11 through ?? will be deployed at the Kiwanis Learning Garden in Old Town at 9.30, to build covers for the sand boxes and perform general clean up and weeding.  Bring your gloves.  Cirrelda will provide all the materials, water, and light snacks.

  • Whereas these are easy projects rapidly completed, and whereas the Service Project Committee is anxious to solicit member ideas for future work projects, EVERYONE (whether you worked or not) is invited to join us at Ponderosa Brewing 1761 Bellamah Ave NW, for lunch and refreshments starting at 11.30

A Memorable Fiesta for Many Reasons !!!

Two of our hardest workers slow down during their frantic Fiesta management duties to celebrate their same-day birthday, Oct. 14.

Betty Kam, right, is the driving force behind one of the largest providers of KiwanisFiestaWork, the Eldorado Choir Boosters.  She worked every evening shift and the Music Fiesta as a Gate Captain, every weekend morning shift as a ticket seller, and just about every waking hour in between helping Booster parents and their talented progeny sort out their schedules.  Betty's veteran parents are stalwart ticket sellers and extremely reliable.

Susan Ng, recent Kachina Award recipient and one of the hardest working members of our Club, worked every evening and the Music Fiesta assigning dozens of workers to the various Admissions booths and Scanning positions.

The Installation and Anniversary Party held Sept. 16 was a wonderful celebration with perfect weather and excellent presentations. Above, Michael Crews is shown with his award for exemplary service.

You will soon find many more photos of the festivities in the Photo Album tab on the left side of this Home Page. And a complete list of Service Awards will be published in the News Section on the right.

Find out more about how Kiwanis serves our community. Join us each Monday at Noon at the MCM Eleganté Hotel Albuquerque. 2020 Menaul Blvd. NE (just east of University).

The Six Permanent Objects of Kiwanis

Object 1: To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
Object 2: To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
Object 3: To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards.
Object 4: To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.
Object 5: To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities.
Object 6: To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will.
